Jody's Philosophy

In order to gain a deeper understanding of my clients,  I provide continual assessment, remediation, and analysis of each individual’s response to their specific treatment approach. I believe that everyone learns differently; therefore, my treatment approach for each client is highly individualized. It is essential to identify and utilize areas of strength to build upon whenever possible in order to improve areas of weakness. Whenever possible, I use a team approach and encourage collaboration with parents, teachers and other specialists to provide the most supportive environment for clients.

Testimonials

"Jody has been such a great source of help and support for my son over the years. She’s helped him to make so much progress and he has always looked forward to their sessions together. Jody even went above and beyond to assist us in planning for his special services (through our school district) as well. We can’t recommend her enough!
Thank you Jody!"

"I used Jody for my son just before entering high school and the positive difference in his grades, performance and confidence was remarkable."

- A.C.

"At the end of 8th grade, my son was in danger failing Pre-Algebra. I looked to Jody to help him finish the work and prepare for the final exam. Her approach was perfect for my son as she involved him in coming up with a strategy for which topics he would review and when. Jody guided him to make smart choices about his approach to studying for the exam while giving him ownership in the process. Jody checked in with him regularly while he followed the plan they created together. He got an A on the final exam and ended up with a B in the class!

In addition, right before my son entered high school, he did Jody’s Executive Functioning Boot Camp. Afterwards, Jody attended a meeting with my son’s Case Manager and me to help revise his IEP to address more of the executive function skills he lacked.

The results of Jody’s help were remarkable. My son finished Freshman year with the ability to advocate for himself, and better organization skills. He took advanced and honors level courses and got straight A’s!  This was an unexpected first for my son who now has confidence in his abilities. I always knew he could do it, but now my son does too!

If you are looking for someone who will take the time to get to know and develop a positive rapport your child, and create a plan to best meet his/her needs, I recommmed Jody wholeheartedly and without reservation.

(Also thank you Jody. J is a different student because of your help!)"

"Our daughter’s speech and reading skill have improved tremendously since she began working Jody. Jody took the time to get to know our child and evaluate what motivates her. Jody personalizes each lesson and always keeps our daughter engaged and interested. Our middle schooler enjoys her sessions with Jody and never wants to miss one. Jody even created virtual meetings to work with our daughter during the pandemic, while keeping them fun and geared toward the student’s needs. Jody has been working with our daughter since preschool and we are so proud that our daughter is in the 6th grade and is on distinguished honor roll. Jody helped make that happen with teaching study skills, building confidence, and guiding our child through her diagnosed "phonological awareness".  We are so grateful."

"Jody has been a wonderful asset to my son's education. He has an auditory processing disorder and over the past year, she has worked with him to help him with his comprehension, listening skills, sequencing, and executive functioning skills. He is now reading ABOVE grade level and enjoys working with her tremendously. I HIGHLY recommend Jody. She is kind, patient, skilled, and FUN to work with!!"
